Recommendation [30 Sep 2011|02:48pm]

lola_vanila
Hi everyone!

I'm a psychologist from Russia and now I am doing research work about attributive processes in conformal behavior. Could you recommend me articles, experiments and suchlike about attributive processes or conformal behavior or all together, that have been written outside Russia for the last ten years?

Thank you in advance:)

Should take about 10 to 15 minutes! Thanks for your help! And if you know anyone else who might take it, forward away!

Invitation to Participate in Research Study:

Mindfulness, Social Attitudes, and Bias Awareness

This is a web-based survey research study involving: mindfulness, social attitudes regarding eperience, comfort and appreciation with diversity, and awareness of personal bias. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship of mindfulness (awareness and acceptance) to social attitudes, specifically the experience and comfort with and appreciation of people who are different or similar.
We are asking you to complete a web-based survey that will take 30 minutes. Some items are sensitive, such as asking you about your religious beliefs or prejudices, but no more so than you would encounter in everyday life; you may skip a question if it makes you uncomfortable.

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. By filling out the survey, you are agreeing to participate in the study. If you have any questions or concerns about this project, contact Dr. Sue C. Jacobs, Associate Professor in Counseling Psychology at (405) 744-9895; sue.c.jacobs@okstate.edu. Other research team members include, Anne P. Weese, Maria Howell, Nathan Richards, Julie Swagerty, and Rich Zamora. This study has been approved by the Oklahoma State University IRB. ideas needed [01 Mar 2007|02:01am]

Hi, I am a senior double major in psychology and sociology. I am debating whether to graduate in december of 07 or in may of 08 (this just depends on whether or not i take summer classes this year) and was hoping people might be able to provide me with some information. I will be applying to graduate programs for fall 2008. In my decision making process I was trying to decide what I should do with my 9 months or so between graduation and grad school. I am very interested in social psychology as well as abnormal and clinical psychology. I will likely be applying to social psychology programs for graduate school.

I was curious if anyone knows of any certification or additional classes or things that I could complete during the 9 months after I get my BA? It is just a thought I had and I do not even know if something exists but short of doing volunteer work I am stumped as to what I should do during that time. I really am just curious if anyone has an information regarding certifications, training, programs etc. that can be completed in a year or less. This would really help make my decision a lot easier (since my advisor has been of no help!) and I appreciate the feedback.

I hope this doesn't violate the rule on the front page, I really am just trying to learn more about what types of programs exist but if this isn't allowed i apologize.

Help? [28 Jan 2007|02:18am]

Hello, I'm a high school junior who cherishes a dream of one day becoming a clinical psychologist. However, to help with this dream, I must complete a *dramatic music* science fair project. It is in this that I need some help. My project is (hopefully) about the lexical decision task and how it is affected by aging. Unfortuantely, I need a program which will enable me to have participants perform the lexical decision task and record response times and such. Does anyone know of such a program? Preferably a free one, as I am an unemployed high school student?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, everyone!

Over the last weekend I asked for your help with my "Online Community: Member Satisfaction" Survey. I am looking for your insights about factors that contribute to satisfaction of online community members with their communicational and/or transactional experience. This message was posted in several active LJ communities of various types.

Many people responded and I hope to meet my targeted sample size with this reminder. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE SURVEY! If not, please consider taking the survey. You need to be a registered member of any online community (not necessarily within the LJ), 18 years old or older. The questionnaire is one-page and will take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete, your responses are anonymous.

You can access the survey via the link below:

Gaming Survey Again [01 Oct 2006|10:38pm]

Hi! I'm still doing the gaming and reaction time survey, but now I need female gamers and male non-gamers to answer it. When I first launched the survey, I got an overwhelming response, which was great. But now that we're analyzing the data, we found that it was mostly female non-gamers and male gamers--not balanced at all. So if you guys know any female gamers or male non-gamers (gamers being people who play videogames for 10hrs a week or more), point them in the direction of our survey!

Thanks again!

Disabled and Graduate School [26 Aug 2006|03:49pm]

Hello All-

There are so many groups around for people with disabilities and I am creating yet another one. =)

This community is a unique because it is designed for those who are applying for, or in... or even graduated from graduate/professional school while having a disability.

I find that these variables are somewhat diffucult to find and hopefully this community will be a place to connect, provide support for one another and empower!!

Please pass the word on to those that might be interested.

Hello Everyone-

I'm doing another round of recruitment for my research study. Please feel free to pass this information on to other groups that might have potential participantts.

Thank you for your time.

Greetings-
My name is Issadora Saeteng and I am a undergraduate student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

Under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Roberts, I am conducting an online study about body image perception among people like myself who have disabilities.

If you are between the ages of 18 – 30 and have a physical/health disability, I need your input!

The study requires that you go to a website and read the informed consent to decide if you would like to participate.

If you decide to participate, the
surveys will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Participation is completely voluntary and there is no monetary compensation however your input may help increase understanding between body image perception and disability.

This research project has no known risks and has been approved by the Institutional Review Boards at the University of California, San Diego.

To participate in this study, you will need access to a computer with an
Internet Connection.

From your web browser, please go to
